Coming Back to the Heart: Stress Management Curriculum

Indigenous Motherhood Circle:

Indigenous Motherhood Circle was created by C.T.U.I.R. Tribal Member, Makiesha Vanpelt and was designed for all mothers seeking their village. IMC is a safe space to connect, support one another, share experiences and knowledge with other mothers in the community. This circle takes place 2 Wednesday’s per month in partnership with the C.T.U.I.R. Family Engagement Program. Indigenous Motherhood Circle is for Mothers in our community who have the desire to come together with one another to share a healthy meal, laugh, and have space to process whatever is coming up in their life.

Makiesha VanPelt is a mother to a 5 year old, early childhood educator, avid vegan chef, and crystal lover. Makiehsa created Indigenous Motherhood Circle in hopes to gather women in our community to support one another. Her passion for mothering and supporting our children shines through her work. Makiesha facilitates the best vibes during her circles where she chefs up tasty vegan meals and brings forth the energy all mothers are needing - to feel seen, supported, and nourished. Her energy brings deep healing into our community and aligns with NWWM pillars of inner peace & well-being, nourishment, healthy relationship, and purpose.

Mamas, Aunties, and Grandmas Meditation Circle:

Facilitated by Marissa

The Mamas, Aunties, and Grandmas Meditation Circle is an introductory experience to establish relaxation in the body to create space for presence and joy in our lives. This class is specially designed for mamas, aunties, and grandmas to have a minute. So often we are the full time caregivers, cooks, housekeepers, full time workers, and all the other hats we might wear throughout our days of mothering. At our MAG Meditation Circle, you will have the opportunity to sit with yourself and other women while we practice ancient breathing techniques, chants, and songs to facilitate inner peace & well-being as well as nourish ourselves.

Upcoming events.

Sacred Rest Retreat:

The Sacred Rest Retreat is a physical space and container held over the course of 3 days and 2 nights at Hiyuumtipin Lake in partnership with the After School Education Program’s Culture Camp. The intention behind the Sacred Rest Retreat is to be held and sit in the energy of receiving. Together we will explore our lives, come into presence, and envision a healed future for our legacy and generations to come. This retreat is targeted toward women of the CTUIR community and other PNW Tribes and therefore will prioritize participants in this field.
